It slows down the brainwaves into a Theta or Delta state, both of which induce feelings of deep relaxation and promote feelings of peace, calmness

 Life can be hard sometimes. Both stress or traumatic experiences can wreak havoc on our nervous system and affect our mental and emotional wellness. Relaxation brings the mind back to balance. It slows down the brainwaves into a Theta or Delta state, both of which induce feelings of deep relaxation and promote feelings of peace, calmness, and serenity. The act of relaxation helps disrupt the pathway of flight, fight or freeze, and allows your brain to calmly respond to a stressor rather than react to it. In essence, relaxation massage helps reduce the levels of the stress hormone cortisol while boosting the feel-good hormones serotonin and dopamine. This release of hormones is what creates that sense of relief and feeling of being able to breathe again.

Art is the heart and flow of massage which connects everything together. It means being so finely tuned with the body of your patient that you can detect subtleties. Hands feel what eyes cannot see. It's a skill developed over time. Without art, the massage becomes disjointed. It's a difference you can feel.
Science is the knowledge of anatomy, injuries, and the textbook techniques used to fix it. It's about knowing what to press, pull or stretch, when to do it, and how. Knowledge alone is useless. Knowing what to do with the knowledge is where magic happens.
